There’s no doubt that creating separate logins for each and every website we visit online can be tedious at times. Attempting to remember multiple usernames and passwords, not to mention which email addresses are associated with what accounts can be a turn-off for many people. Various websites and smartphone apps have tried to make this cumbersome practice much straightforward by allowing the ability to “link” social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc in order to login to 3rd party websites.
For example, you have your choice of using an existing Facebook or Microsoft account to create a YouNow.com account, eliminating the need to create separate login credentials. While this ability may seem helpful, it could be doing more harm than good.
