Good day world. Welcome to TolbertSecurity.com!
My name is Paul Tolbert and I am a bonafied tech geek. I love all things computer-related and my interests have lead me to my curiosity with cyber security. Everything from software, hardware, physical and information security just fascinates me and I really enjoy talking and reading about it.
In fact, my love affair with cyber security and IT helped to encourage me to go to school for it. I’m currently a student at Pensacola State College studying Cyber Forensics and expect to graduate in 2017. From there, I hope to pursue a Bachelor’s in Cyber Security shortly afterwards. I am also lucky enough to flex my IT skills with my current job as an Email Security Specialist with a global security and email hosting company located in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
Cyber security and Information Technology in general is such a vast field with many different disciplines. While I understand most of the tech jargon, acronyms and digital blabber that sites like CNET, ZDNet, TechRepublic and other technology blogs throw at us, What I’ve found is a lack of quality, cyber security-focused websites that catered to the average consumer who’s technical expertise may not be as refined as a seasoned IT professional. This underrepresented group is the very group that could benefit the most from this knowledge! I truly believe that the IT industry needs to take a better approach to helping consumers understand digital security in how it relates to their privacy and protection. It is this need that inspired me to create this blog. I want to tackle these issues head-on and provide an avenue for tech-curious individuals, regardless of skill level or knowledge to be able to learn something useful and be fully aware of the dangers that lurks out in cyberspace. Of course, the best type of environment to learn something is a fun environment so the content here shall reflect that.
Stop by often for the latest up to date information regarding cyber security and have confidence in knowing what you read will be easy to understand and very useful. I would love to hear your thoughts regarding cyber security and the type of content that you would enjoy reading on the site. Feel free to leave your comments below!
